About Myofunctional Therapy
An individualized Myofunctional Therapy program will be created for you to improve your function through the re-education of breathing and of your orofacial muscles. Some goals of your training might include normalizing the resting posture for your tongue and lips, establishing nasal breathing, increase orofacial muscle strength, improve upper airway patency and stabilize the bite and jaw.
Along with Myofunctional Therapy you may also experience changes in other aspects of your life, such as: improved mood, decreased symptoms of daytime sleepiness, brain fog and improve overall quality of life.

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy uses a combination of exercises to improve the bite, swallowing, breathing, proper oral rest posture and proper tongue position. These can be affected by a dysfunction caused by Orofacial Myofunctional disorders which occur when abnormal lip, jaw, or tongue position interferes with your orofacial structures' development and function. Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders can negatively impact the functions of chewing, swallowing, jaw movement and proper nasal/ diaphragmatic breathing.
